Persephone’s Main Story (The Classic Kidnapping):

Persephone gets captured

Demeter Freaks out and destroys the crops – now we have fall and winter

Hekate Searching for Persephone

Persephone ate 6 seeds for summer and winter

Then she became queen of the underworld

I’m going to breakdown that story that we all know into a mix of Persephone and I doing a retelling of how I believe things actually went down and why. (Please note this is my own retelling along with the psychic abilities that I do have – automatic writing being one of them, so this is being written by Persephone and I, but if you don’t believe in that aspect then understand I have been researching and learning about Persephone since I was 6 years old, and I am now 32 – this is a brief summery of her MAIN trending story – this is part one to the Persephone blogs)

Persephone’s Kidnapping (Or was it):

The Retelling

Demeter and Zeus only had one daughter, their lovely pure amazing Kore. Her name wasn’t Kore though, it was always Persephone, Kore is just what we call daughters in Greek. I like to think some the Disney version of Hercules and Megara are a mix of Persephone’s story.

Demeter loved her daughter, but being the goddess of agriculture and harvest, you can imagine she would be kind of overbearing. Persephone on the other hand was a free little spirit always wanting more for herself, she loved to frolic in the forest and make flower crowns, hang out with her siblings, and befriended all the Fae and Nymphs (well not all of them but that’s a story for another day) – Demeter tolerated it, she always only wanted the best for her daughter, but she always made sure Hermes was keeping an eye on her. Over time Persephone grew, but she always felt trapped, like her mom always wanted her to be something she couldn’t live up to, she had different dreams. But she continued to live her life and managed to make the best of her situation because she didn’t want to see out of place, all her siblings loved their roles, and they seemed happy.

Meanwhile Hades…. Well he had been watching and observing the entire time, he was always fascinated by Demeter’s role, so he was watching this girl just loving her life, but not having the full freedom she wanted or desired. So he decided to go to Zeus and made a proposition with him. Zeus reluctantly agreed because he also knew his daughter wasn’t fully happy with the life she was living.

So one day Persephone is picking some Narcissus flowers (Which a lot of people think Narcissus he felt nothing for anyone until he saw his own reflection in the water and that’s why they call them a Narcissist, but actually, he had a twin sister who died and was mourning her loss, and it wasn’t until he saw his twins reflection did he feel that feeling again) Which actually makes the most sense for this retelling, because Persephone was struggling with her inner balance and she was feeling a darkness inside her that she couldn’t explain.

Hades found this a prime opportunity to approach her and give her an offering she couldn’t refuse. The idea of going to the underworld would scare most, but not Persephone, its something she felt in her heart, but couldn’t quite explain, it filled a void she tried to ignore. She loved the grass and the trees and the flowers and everything there was to offer, but she also loved the cold, lurking, emptiness of the darkness. So she went, but she knew she was being watched by Hermes, so they made it seem like it was a kidnapping.

Hermes rushes and tells Demeter she has been kidnapped (Cue why I mentioned the Disney version of Hercules) and Demeter destroys all the crops. Hekate is now being disturbed in the Underworld and she does not like to be disturbed so she runs to question Persephone and Hades. Persephone explains everything and Hekate promises to fix the mess that has been created. Hekate now goes to find Demeter and offers to assist in the search for Persephone, they eventually find her, but Hekate had stalled Demeter long enough for Persephone to consume the 6 Pomegranate seeds. Demeter inevitably brings Persephone back home, only for Zeus to have to be the one to break the news to her that their lovely pure Kore would have to spend 6 months ruling the Underworld with Hades.

The End.

In this version of the story no one is at fault, everyone played their role, because that how the world and universe works, energies work twist and intertwine and work in a perfect way that makes everything git together beautifully. This version of the story there is no bad guy. Everyone wins, even Demeter, now she gets time off since she decided death to all agriculture every 6 months was a good plan because then she got to do whatever she wanted to pretend for the next season.

If you believe Persephone is reaching out, it is because you are calling out to her, she does not have the time to be reaching out to everyone BUT if she DOES called she will make herself known because her energy is so powerful. This is why you will see signs of her everywhere. It is because you already know on some subconscious level that she can help you.
